The Queens Arms, Birmingham

Living locally, I walk past here fairly regulalary. Haven't been in for a while after a few questionable pints a few years back but walked past the other day and saw a "Cask Marque" sign out front and thought it would be worth a try.
A massive improvement, very impressed with my pint of Doombar. Food was on offer too so called the missus down and had a couple of decent burgers, plus she loved the random (though awful sounding!) Raspberry Cider on a handpull - not a fan myself! All in all impressed, have started using it again.

The Rope Walk, Birmingham

Such a great looking building in a fantastic location - what a waste of space!
Awful coloured lights inside and a dodgy "DJ" who i'm sure doubles up as a bar memeber and suits 1980's weddings...
Drinks range isn't exciting, food cheap - the area needs a decent, quality, interesting bar, something funky and independent - like the Rectory but with cask - rather than a branded over styled pub. Sorry!!
