Love beer (lager, not real ale), wine, good whiskey. hate hangovers and drinking on an empty stomach. My wife shares the same taste of alcoholic beverage so we have a good time together sampling the local brews.
We've recently discovered the Caf� Belge in Battle where they sell some fantastic Belgian beers. If you're after something different you could do a lot worse than this place.
We both love music and going to see live bands.
having just moved into East Sussex I'm interested to explore the local drinkner's and restaurants and will be adding comments along the way. Always interesting to see what peolple think about one of our great heritages, the good old British pub.
Lets hope the sun shines in 2007.

I must disagree stronly with the previous comments. We have found this pub to be very freindly and welcoming. It's clean and the Orangiboom is served just right.
The food we've tried here is ample and well cooked with good service to boot.
There's a pool table and plenty of seating.
The usual array of eclectic Battle bar patrons take it in turns to prop up the bar on different days of the week so if you go in there a lot, you won't get bored by the same conversation.
One things though......who on earth chose the tiles in the toilets? Yeuch!

The Abbey Hotel, Battle
I agree with my husband on everything he said about the ABBEY!! Graham the owner has gone out of his way to make us feel welcome. After moving here from California and trying out the other local pubs, this is the one place that I have felt very comfortable in. The girls behind the bar are friendly and informstive, I really like them. And it is never boring. Thsnks Graham, you're OK in my book!!! and so is your Pub!!!
