Bit too grand? I always have ham, egg and chips here when I'm in the area. Can't think what caffs Mr Difficult might eat in. Never even noticed the music.

A refreshing change here after years of gloom. New landlord seems to know his ales (and wine) and his wife turns out extraordinary food at good prices - my wife's fishcakes were the best she'd ever had and my roast was pretty good (potatoes in duck fat was the key we were told). Service was a bit slow but this was only their third week in and the place was heaving for Sunday lunch. Will be back despite the hard to find location.

Have always loved it - well worth the walk out of guildford town centre and all the kids bars on Sesame Street.
