The Maple Leaf, Covent Garden

Wow - as a Canadian who lives in London, I am finding some of these posts quite insulting and uncalled for. For one, anytime I have been to the Maple Leaf, only about 5% of the customers are actually Canadian. The rest are Americans, Aussie's, Kiwi's, Brit's, etc. So, just because someone is rude to you in that pub, don't automatically assume that they are Canadian. That said, I have never had a bad experience there.

Also, I am sure that this Quebecer comment came from someone who lives in Western Canada and has never even met a French Canadian. I come from Ottawa, worked in Quebec for 8 years, and have met and become friends with a lot of Quebecers who are fantastic people. I would like to assure any Quebecer that reads this thread that not all Canadians discriminate against them the way Canadian_Animal does.

It is very unfortunate that this had to turn into a Canadian bashing thread rather than a thread where one rates a pub which is what it is supposed to be. For those of you who are bashing Canadians for being arrogant and rude, I think you should look at your own behaviour on this site before judging another Nationality.

So, back to rating a pub. I like to go to the Maple Leaf to watch the hockey games that I can't watch elsewhere. Line-up at the bar is generally horrendous and service is slow. But, if you want to get some Canadian Beer and watch a bit of hockey, I highly recommend it. Just get a double round when at the bar because otherwise you will waste half your time in a line-up.
