The Chequers Inn, Writtle

Went for Sunday Lunch to the carvery. The meats my party had (beef, turkey and lamb) were tender and succulent, absolutely lovely. The vegetables were also perfectly cooked, which is unusual these days when chefs tend to undercook them. The pub was relatively empty about 12.30 when we arrived, so we got a table easily without having booked. It is a family friendly pub.

The Star, Malden Rushett

Good choice of food, particularly the extensive childrens menu. The food was delicious, piping hot and there wasn't a long wait. Clean toilets with a baby changing mat (although we no longer need one of those). Great place to refuel after a day at Chessington.
