The Grange, Ealing Common

A yes The Grange. Visited this establishment in 1988 when I was in London on my big O.E. from Invercargill, New Zealand. As there isn't a photo I can't really rememeber the ol'Grange...I was 25 in those days and consumed 'snakebites' that were 50% strongest cider and 50% strongest lager I could buy...needless to say one minute I could speak English and the next sheer utter gibber! The drink fermented in your stomach so one can imagine what it did to ones swede...yeh so who needs 'P' then!

The Caernarvon Castle, Camden

Ah yes such fond memories...1988 I was fortunate enough to experience this legendary London pub on a Sunday afternoon session from 12 -3pm with other Kiwis and some English hosts. WOW what could I say! The band who played must've all been in their late 40's and could they pump out the rhythm and blues! Our crew basically were already screwed from Saturday night so it only took a couple of pints before we were at it again...atmosphere was unparalled! I was 25 at the time...as the pubs closed at 3pm on Sundays back then we'd cruise round to a flat and carry the party on with goodness knows whatever else happened to be on the menu!!!Then re-visit the pub again at 6 pm when they opened again...all in all...great Sundays were had by all!
