The Jolly Gardeners, Old Windsor
Just spotted the last comment about only two real ales . We at CAMRA would prefer that there be only two very well kept and popular ales on offer, rather than pubs trying to serve a larger range and just not achieving the throughput. This results in the barrels being on sale for more than the ideal 3/5 days, and the beer being sold when it has already started to deteriorate with the 'souring' process already under way.
I think the Jolly Gardeners has got the balance spot on, as I have been back quite often since my last visit and the beer has always been absolutely spot on. Sadly this cannot be said for most establishments who would rather put short term profits over longer term quality.

The Jolly Gardeners, Old Windsor
When I last visited this pub about 4 years ago, it was a grubby, dingy little back street boozer infested by rowdy, heavy drinkers who seemed to be content drinking the not particularly nice beer that was on offer.
I was astonished to see that it was now in the latest Good Beer Guide, so with reservations I decided to give it another go- my goodness, what a change! It has been completely turned round - now a pleasant, friendly and airy atmosphere. Beer on absolute top form, too.
Sadly, pressure of work and travel means I am not able to get back to Old Windsor as often as I would like, but when I can I will be returning.

The Lamb and Flag, Covent Garden
Went into this pub last week and ordered a pint of Pride. When the glass was nearly full it was topped up to the brim with the contents of the slop tray!
When I told the barmaid that there was no way I was accepting that, she said she was told to do that by the manager. I'm not sure if this is even legal, but it is certainly indicative of the pub's hygene standards.
Sadly, I left the pub without purchasing anything, and I won't be returning.
