The Enterprise, Holborn

Knowing how busy pubs in London can be on a Friday evening we reserved an area in this pub to at least be able to talk to each other. We stated it was for eight people and were advised this would be no problem. On arrival we found we had a table and four chairs put aside in a small area to the rear of the pub. We were also surrounded by other tables with four chairs also reserved for other people. When the manager was spoken to re the other chairs he just said that four was all they could do because it is busy on Fridays. He made no effort to resolve the situation and displayed a "did not care" type of attitude. It transpired at least 3 surrounding tables had all asked for larger parties than they had chairs for. This area is also located next to the Toilets and coupled with the fact that no consideration had been given to numbers led to a thoroughly miserable and outrageously overcrowded evening. Obviously we could have just left (and we did when everyone arrived) but due to the staggered arrival times of our friends and presented with the fact we stood no chance of getting a table elsewhere. My friends and I will not return.
