Ye Olde Cannon, Low Fell

The cannon is on the end of a busy street, Durham Road. If you're after cheap beer and loads of blokes, this is probably your place, it's one of the less posh areas of Low Fell.

It has a pretty good function room upstairs, which is decent for 18th/21st birthday parties due to its proximity to bus stops and transport facilities. It's also opposite a Barclays cash point!

Bar 38, Newcastle

Bar 38 is a great pub, refurbished by Sanderson Contracts Ltd. on behalf of S&N. It has a trendy, modern feel to it, with nice tables and seating areas encircled in different parts so promotes a friendly atmosphere.

It has great toilets, strangely enough, and has an "orb/egg" seating area which, although sometimes stinks of beer, is great for groups of 6 or 7 people who go out.

The only draw back is that it's slightly off the Quayside, so maybe doesn't get enough business.

The Coachman, Whickham

The Coachmans is a great pub, and has been recently refurbished (April 2005) It's suitable for both families and hardcore drinkers alike. It focuses on Italian food now rather than traditional pub meals.
