The Doghouse, St Peter Port

Friendly, efficient service. Good range of beers and good food. I've personally only seen one band playing at The Dog House. They were a tribute to Ian Dury and The Blockheads called The Blox - and they were excellent.

The Happy Frenchman, Folkestone

An unwelcoming and not exactly friendly bar (rather than pub). Totally devoid of atmosphere. Has the odd colourful character in it, e.g. the guy with the completely tattooed head! Speaking as a band member it's not a good venue to see a band in or to play in. Also, the manager double books bands and lies through his teeth. Do yourself a favour and avoid. Folkestone has much better to offer than this.
