To "Governor" - that says it all , you are an ex pub landlord and probably went into this pub while people were enjoying themselves, you sound like the sort of landlord that takes people's money and order them how to behave in your pub, which is why you are an ex landlord. No one wants to part with cash to be told how to behave, you can do that 'Fawlty Towers' bar in wherever.Go and find an old git's pub where you mustn't speak or talk over the clock ticking mate!
This pub is friendly, lets you enjoy yourself without upsetting any other clientel and Alec is quick to bar you if you are out of order. I have heard that a lot of "oiks" are now out of there as they are on the "pub watch" register.
I say again, excellent food and good bar staff, and a traditional boozer, not some crappy sports bar that you can't hear yourself think, or wait hours to get served in. A credit to this area! Keep it up Bar Staff!

Absolutely top friendly service and the food......., felt like I was in a top restaurant when the food turned up. This pub has changed hands recently and not knowing how crap it was before, it certainly has got to be on the top pub food guide this year. Keep it up landlord, I will be a regular, good ales and good cheap food to die for!
