The Sun Inn, Feering
We live in Suffolk and have only just discovered this pub as a mid-way meeting point between friends in Billericay and ourselves. Our first visit was Friday 20th and today, Sunday 29th August 2010. After reserving a table for the first visit and then discovering one critical comment on this website we had some trepidation but nonetheless made the initial visit.
We need not have to be concerned. Both visits were thoroughly enjoyable, on both occasions three people had excellent pizzas, two had lamb dishes. Yes, it can be a wait when it is busy, but yes, one should expect that from freshly prepared food.
The beer was excellent, the ambiance terrific and the place was full on both occasions. Drinking and driving laws have destroyed many pubs, this one has the benefit of a thriving community that can walk to a pub.
Everyone has their own opinions but living in the Suffolk/Essex Stour Valley with some of the finest pubs and restaurants in the UK, we would thoroughly recommend the Sun - we cannot/will not be regular visitors but will certainly seek it out when next in the area.
