The Albion, Portishead

We were at the Portishead Albion pub this evening and received the worse service ever. We are very regulars at this pub and today I ordered my food and paid a �20 but received the balance for �10. When I asked the guy at the counter he was very sincere and said he will get the till opened for the balance amount. He called his manager who came and balanced the till and told that his till is already short by �2 and I had paid �10 for sure, the rule is if there's no excess in the till end of the story! I only had a �20 note in my hand at that time and I am more than sure what I paid. The manager treated me as a thief and handled the situation very unprofessionally in front of all the other customers. I tried to explain to him that there is clearly something wrong with his tills if �2 is anyway short, but that is not my fault. This pub had great food, but to all who go there, make sure to check your balance and don't get yourself treated like a thief in front of others. I wouldn't go there ever again.
