DesVins Cafe and Wine Bar, St Pancras International Station

Was waiting for a train in St Pancras when stumbled accross this great wine bar / cafe restaurant., with a 'take a way' liquour cart outside!!! I enjoyed lovely fresh sandwishes on display and enjoyed a home made soup and fine glass of wine from the large selection. Was lovely to watch the world go by in a 'non chain' with homemade food and delicious wine in a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere.... this combination plus the service makes me certain go there again for a longer stop, perhaps before my eurostar trip in May... i couldn't help but pick up a gin and tonic from their liquor cart before i got the train home.. What a brilliant idea, best journey i've had in ages!!!

The City Pride, Isle of Dogs

The City Pride is definitely not closing and I'm heading down there for New Year... its such a relief as its one of my favourite traditional pubs and the only one of its kind in that area, the food is delicious (had the spicy bacon pasta last week - divine!) and am looking forward to using the beer garden in 09 - anyone joining me for New Year?!
