The Prospect of Whitby, Wapping

Really disappointed with The Prospect of Whitby! We were concerned by all the bad reviews but thought we should try it for ourselves. Whilst the pub is in an excellent location and has oodles of old world charm, the food is utterly terrible!! Gastro pub prices for re-constituted chicken and coleslaw from a tub... Not to mention the cold chips! If you like basic cuisine from the 80s then this might be for you (lots of prawn cocktail on the menu) but otherwise just pop in for a drink, enjoy it by the river and then cross the road and treat yourself to dinner at The Wapping Project.

The Holly Bush, Hampstead

We visited The Holly Bush on a Sunday lunchtime and it was pack, as expected, however the bar staff were incredibly helpful. We were found a lovely table and had great service. The food was also wonderful and very good value. Our waiter was apologetic about the quality of the decaf cappuccino and so didn't even add it to the bill. We cannot wait to have lunch at the Holly Bush again!
