The James Joyce, Harrow

This pub is built especially for wide eyed locals.
The staff are friendly but there are the same people in here all week and if the locals take a second to come out of the toilet in their herds or by fault of a nervous twitch cast there eyes in your direction be warned this is there kingdom, full of the typical stereotype of scaffolders and roofers (apologies to the ones with braincells) the [people who drink in here are seriously lacking in something such as brains that gets them through life.
If there isn't a kick off, there's an overdose, conversation is limited to repeats from the backpages of the Star and the women (old slappers with young sidekicks) are so up there own arse that I would never set foot in this establishment again.

The Dublin Castle, Camden

There aren't many indie/britpop acts over the last decade doing the London gig circuit that didn't grace their presence on the small stage hidden away in the back room of the Dublin Castle. Great venue for up and coming bands and a really nice feel to the place.
The crowd in there is usually a good one although you will most definately come across at least 10 people trying so hard to look cool that it hurts your eyes! The staff are friendly and it is in my eyes one of the best places to booze in London inless you like R & B!
