Lovely place with interesting interiors, you feel like you're at home, the pub is split up into rooms (a local told me it used to be a house before it was converted)
drinks are good, reasonably priced beers and i just like it for it's atmosphere :)

The Devonshire Arms, Cambridge
Love this pub, good range of different ales, beers and they let you bring food in from outside because they don't serve. bar staff are nice too, very friendly and patient when you do the typical "ummm, i don't know" customer reaction when faced with such an array. highly recommend this place, also really quite handy as a last drink before heading back on the trains to "that there London"

came in here for some lunch with the fella and although neither of us are very local to the place it was nice enough.
food was good and arrived in a reasonable time. neither of us are sports fans so the fact that neither of us liked the noise of the footie just about to start was a bit of a turn off. i'd imagine it's perfect for sports fans who want a good seat in front of the tv (there are several widescreens dotted about in convenient places) only had a chance to have a sneaky half so can't really say much for the drinks.

The Prince of Wales, Wimbledon
This is one of the few pubs in wimbledon i actually recommend and enjoy going to. no dodgy people, nice enough bar staff, drinks are decent too and the price is reasonable. what more could you really want except for a free bar tab? ;)

Last time i was here was just over a year ago for a comedy gig and as an entertainment venue i think it's pretty good, nice and close to public transport links.
the beer was pretty good, a bit pricey for what i was used to at the time but then the pub itself is a nice place with open fires, beer (smokers) garden. on the few occasions i'd been i found it very hectic and the staff were able to cope reasonably well.

Not a bad 'Spoons as far as they go, I've been to much worse and much better, it's one of those pubs that you know everyone will find and will be able to have a drink/bite to eat without commenting on how expensive it is compared to where they drink/eat!
i guess if i had to sum it up i'd call it "reliable"

For those of you who have read recent reviews about the place looking shabby, I've been walking past this place for the last 8 weeks, about 3 weeks ago I wanted to visit the place only to find out it was closed for a refurb. 2 weeks ago they announced they were reopening and would have food on the menu. thought i might check out the beers in the not too distant future..
just thought other people might want to give this place a second chance as it does look pretty cool :/

The Ship, Soho
The only reason we'd rate his place as a 9 is due to lack of space but it's London. That said it's a treasure of a pub to find in such a notoriously trendy place. It has a strong resolve to stay true to it's heart and just be a pub and that's what makes it great.
The Guinness isn't amazing but unless it's from Ireland it just won't be but the atmosphere and bar staff more than make up for this.
