When you walk through the wall of chavs smoking outside, you are instantly sent into a spiral of depression about how dark and gloomy this place is. It's like your worst nightmare. Once you manage to get to the bar, you will still be faced by a long wait for any service at all: you will almost certainly wish you had stayed at home. The regulars look like they have been bussed in from a quiet corner of the Island where brothers and sisters can still legally marry. Tip: wear something from Sports Direct if you don't want to stand out.

This could be a fantastic pub. Trouble is if you go on a Sunday and you haven't reserved a table, you could end up squashed in a corner. If you're lucky. Meanwhile, there are hordes of empty tables with poncey "Reserved" labels on them. Ridiculous.
Also, popped in there this week, only really wanted to use the loo but thought I'll buy a Diet Coke out of courteousy. It was 2.15 (or 2.25), what an outrageous price. I can buy a pint or bottle of beer in other places for that. Glad I said no ice!!

Not been for a while as takes an age to get served and the Karaoke host seemed to prefer to get himself or his mates up so that's why I stopped going.

The Fighting Cocks, Arreton
One of the better foody pubs on the Island. We ate outside because it was a nice day: when we returned to our table after playing for ten minutes, our drinks had been removed. Rather bizarrely, they had been put under the bar when I went inside to enquire (complain). Still worth a visit, nice food, decent portions.
