After a trip around the Spitting Feathers Brewery our party arrived at the Bear and Billett for an evening meal. The pub is large and plenty of room, we ordered a main meal (lamb pie) and a pudding. Prices were very reasonable, the meal was good value and the traditional puddings come with a coffee included in the price. Staff were very friendly and helpful, I would recommend this pub. The range of beers were good and we all enjoyed our visit.

Just a note the say thank you to the Crown for organising a great day out! We had a great time on the Spitting Feathers brewery trip. It was very interesting to see where some of the beers that we like so much actually come from. It was a very enjoyable day with some very good Spitting Feathers beers, sausages and ribs!!! A trip to two pubs in Chester (reviews on their own sites) and then back to the Crown for a few more beers, the Pictish was lovely last night, thanks again.

I too am very unhappy that Mr Bateman feels that my posting is suspicous by virtue of it being one of the 'last ten' comments posted. I have given my opinion which is valid and sincere. I do not comment on the Railway as I do not frequent that pub, I do not comment on the Magnet as I have no need to go there, the Crown sells as many delightful, interesting beers as I could wish for!
I enjoy the warm atmosphere, the different beers on offer, the banter with the staff and in the Summer sitting in the beer garden is fabulous, with a tasty beer in a unique setting! If Mr Bateman with his belligerent attitude chooses not to visit - well all the better for the customers at the Crown.

Great night again in the Crown, a real ale pub for us girls as well as the men. We had a fabulous evening, lots of choice of very tasty beers, especially the 'Chocwork Orange' a dark, rich, tasty beer that was 6.5%, also the Marble Ginger was very palatable. Always has a warm atmosphere and friendly staff, if you've not been - WHY NOT??????
This is my very favourite pub and I would recommend for all you discerning beer lovers, the beers are varied and interesting and there is always something new. Love it!

The Brewery Tap, Chester
Coach load of us 'bobbed' in here after Spitting Feathers Brewery tour (would recommend that)!!! This pub is certianly very atmospheric, very old, great fireplace that is utilised behind the bar. Spitting Feathers beer was really good (as usual) and also tried the Facers dark ale, very nice (4%). The staff were quick and friendly (seeing as so many of us decended) would recommend this and will certianly be arranging to visit again.
