Can only say I have to agree with the last reviewer.
Given the potential of such a fantastic riverside setting, what a real shame. The place is a damn mess, and it has filtered this 'feel' into a lot (not all) of the staff.
At the bar it seems you need to be a local, or personally known to whoever deems to notice you. All in all quite an odd place!

The Sandacres Free House, Sandbanks
Superb location, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
How can this be? I mean, how, on the very lead-in to one of the most expensice pieces of land on the planet, can such a 'normal' looking Pub continue to exist?
Where are the Blue L.E.D lights? Where's all the glass panels and stainless steel beautification?
Absolutely no-where, thank god.
Visit this place quick, it simply cannot last in its current form.

WOW!
Beautiful Sunday evening 26/6/11 and we thought we'd pop to the Nightjar .................... to discover the most pretentious load of shallow twaddle ever to grace a piece of land - with a new name now "The Cliff"
Just don't bother, unless you have some sort of idea that 'being seen' is more important than quality of experience. Decor is washed-out looking wood tables, staff are the same bored 'I'm better than this' as always were, new signs, new pictures etc all look embarressed to be there, and just read the website - it beggars belief.

Now a Harvester. Ridiculous queues at peak times (to the door - some 30ft away?) . Touch-screen system for staff will convert your simple enquiry / order into a 6 minute prodding ineffectually at screen to ascertain precisely nothing. Don't be alarmed, a few moments into your 'meal' to be accosted with "everything OK" by a staff memeber looking the other way as they say it, and then perhaps again by another one, if they happened to have played some minor role in your time there. Some staff absolutely brilliant, others plain awful.

Hmmm, there are so many "ok to visit for a Sunday carvery" type pubs in our beautiful area, I'm damn sure we didn't NEED another one.
I can only think of the 'old' manor arms as a superb rough-rock, country drive home venue.
Sadly missed.

Fiddleford Inn, Sturminster Newton
1st time for us here, and what a super place to find after miles on the road.
YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BUBBLE & SQUEAK - unbelievable.
Lovely place.
