The Castle, Outwood

We go here as often as we can, either for lunch and more recently on a Sunday and midweek for a meal. The food is very good, the staff are very friendly the place just has a nice feel about it. Nice in the summer as there is a large outside area.

Gardeners Arms, Spalding

Oh dear, this is what happens when people get complacent. As the only real option for eating out at Springfields,(though there is now a restauramt in the garden center). The food was so overpriced and bad value for money, we only ordered two starters which we had high hopes for. Unfortunately it was really poor and when we mentioned this to the very friendly waitress, she agreed it was a bit pricey for what was served but, the menu was being changed! We are not local but go up this way from time to time and I hope it improves. The place itself is okay, just sort the food and the prices out. Like all people in this part of the world, the staff are excellent, makes a change from down south.

The Red Lion, Bletchingley

Although living fairly locally and drive past quite often, decided to go here today for the first time. We went for lunch and the sandwiches were very good, so will go back to try the main menu food. Prices seem competitive, pleasant staff and the recent re fit, has been nicely done. The previous post from a local is good to read, nice photo's of the place in it's former life are a nice touch too.
