A place to take visitors - Ye Olde Worlde charm, old beams, dubious claims to being the country's oldest pub...
The food has always been excellent when I've tried it, the beer's good too.
The crowd definitely seems to be more tourists than locals, e.g. went for a meal on a Friday night a few months back and it was nearly empty.
Only minus is the choice of music: they go for trendy stuff like Manu Chao with just does not fit in at all with the atmosphere of the place. Weird.

Had a few drinks in this place at the weekend - and I didn't like it at all. Sorry.
Went for the lagers (no decent bitters on tap, and I'm not a fan of Guinness). It tasted vaguely beer-ish; got a different lager for my second drink, tasted exactly the same.
Soda stream was broken - on a heatwave day. Booh! If I was a cynical man I'd suspect that they deliberately wanted to sell bottled cokes rather than (cheap) soda and lime?
On the plus side, the food smelled good (I didn't try any myself) and the place was clean.

Was my favourite place when I worked in the area: decent food, nice staff, couple of real ales, lots of space outside to drink your pint without standing on the road.
Pretty much what a pub should be really!
Only big negative is that food orders tend to turn up at random times, annoying if you are still waiting for your plate when your friends have already finished theirs.

I go every now and then to the salsa classes on a Thursday night. The atmosphere varies from 'average' to 'excellent' depending on the crowd that turns up. Beer is expensive, cocktails are ok, air con has 2 settings: broken, or dripping water on to the dancefloor.
I've been to the same place at the weekend, never again. Expensive, full of aggressive teenage chavs, and absolutely no latino music.
Another negative: they have toilet attendants. Thanks, but my mom taught me how to wash my own hands.

The White Hart Tap, St Albans
A place that's grown on me. A reliable selection of real ales, the landlords run a tight ship, the piped music is eclectic and interesting but kept at a low volume (a godsend in a day and age when many places assault your ears).
