Interesting; seems to have been a bit of a campaign on the reviews praising the new owners and all on one day!
Read the previously bad reviews and entered with some trepidation as I liked the old pub. Lighter inside, busy, basically not a bad pub. But why so much karaoke?

The Thomas Willingale, Chingford
Have now visted since changes. Emptier than it used to be (I was there on a Saturday night when all the surrounding bars were rammed), but little else seems to have changed. You get the feeling that a fight is just waiting to start.

The Marquis of Granby, Fitzrovia
Was a great pub, but recently in need of a bit of TLC (gents are pretty poor to say the least). Still a good place to meet.

The Thomas Willingale, Chingford
Haven't been to this pub since name changed to The Station House. Beforehand it was perfect as a pub; get off the train at Chingford having had a good few beers at a good pub elsewhere, rush accross the road, use the Willingale's side entrance, up the stairs, into the gents and then off home.

I used to live less than a minutes walk from here; hardly went in before it was taken over by Hungry Horse, but my God do I miss the old place! Huge, Souless, cheap pub with bad food.

Willy's Wine Bar, Fenchurch Street
As far as city haunts go, a great little bar with a TV to watch the cricket on those longer lunches. Staff really good.

The Clissold Arms, East Finchley
Moved to Muswell Hill recently and as part of my initiation into the area gave this pub a try. Big inside, staff fine, beer good.
