Good selection of hand pull beers (six or more) and good consistency in quality. Good pub grub also. Semmingly unaffected by trends in interior design for the past 300 years. It can get a little crowded and smokey but come the smoking ban it'll be just about perfect. This and the Nobody Inn are just about the best places in Grantham for quality ale.

Tucked away in the Lincolnshire countryside this is an excellent friendly village place, with 3 real ales on hand pull along with Leffe on draught. Nice separation of eating and drinking so you don't feel either party is being imposed upon. Food is also top notch and worth visiting for in its own right (Steak and Guiness has to be tried!) Beer festivals held periodically.
