i completely agree with moozer. More than 4 now for a pint of larger and 1.10 for a packet of crisps. Ridiculous and utterly unjustified !!!!

Having lived in the village for many years and experienced this pub both under the current and previous owners (i still drink there a couple of times a week) i can honestly say that most people who drink here, both locals and others, seem to appreciate the huge effort, particularly from the landlord, that has gone into the pub in the past year and a bit. However, the food has been at best inconsistant and at worst awful, small portions and overpriced. On more than one occassion the landlady has been rude to staff and customers within earshot of the rest of the punters. I'm amazed at some of the excessively positive comments re the food that ive read on here - very odd

The Merry Harriers, Hambledon
Hi
As I am being directly criticised by 'exguvnor' I thought i would post a response.
Firstly, if you are going to literally quote somebody make sure you quote what the person wrote and not what fits in well with the point you are inarticulately trying to make.
Secondly, I haven't eaten in the pub for several months but i am aware there has been more than one change of chef so perhaps the quality of the food has improved but the food prices remain high as does the cost of the drinks relative to other local pubs. I don't agree that 4+ for a pint of lager, premium or otherwise, is justifiable. Although I don't have the exact prices to hand (slightly strange that you do?) bitter, cider, soft drinks, snacks etc are also comparably more expensive at the harriers than similar local pubs.
I also see you had a good time at the recent Rolling Stones tribute band. Did you think that 15 a ticket was good value to see a pub band ? Having visited 200+ pubs can you let me know which other pubs charge a similar amount so i can avoid them ?
