I agree with the previous poster. With great local breweries like Hoggleys and Frog Island just down the road, why can't pubs like this show a bit of imagination and serve something that might attract customers? Currently you would have to go a long way to find such a miserable selection of beers that are on offer in this pub.

A very friendly and well run pub. Very welcoming and clearly very popular with locals. Good range of beers and good value pub "grub". Highly recommended.

Oh dear! This pub is worth visiting as an example of how to destroy all the character in a 400 year old thatched building. How could someone get it so consistently and badly wrong? Whilst it used to be a bit shabby, it formerly had loads of character! A newlandlord has taken over so I went in to check it out. Bland modern colours throughout and there are no pictures on the walls (or any curtains for that matter). With nothing to soak up the sound, the rooms sound echo chambers and are certainly not conducive to conversation. The old furniture has been replaced by tacky modern stuff including some really uncomfortable stools set around a table which are surely designed to get you leaving as soon as possible. Consequently the whole place looks cold, bland and frankly ridiculous - a wine bar in a village! Four pretty uninspiring real ales on offer. What a terrible disappointment.

This is a good pub serving good beer and food. The landlord and staff are friendly and helpful. I agree with the other comments though about regulars blocking up the bar - this is the worst pub I can remember going in for this. About 20 people (who always seem to be in there regardless of day or time) who stand all around the bar and won't move away for anyone who wants to buy a drink - a real problem for the landlord - I know a landlord doesn't want to alienate their regulars but this lot put off potential customers. Beware of Friday and Saturday nights - full of Hooray Henry's.

The Kings Arms, Farthington
A real gem of a pub - more reminiscent of a country cottage than a pub. Good selection of ales in excellent condition. Check out the gent's loos!
The hidden garden at the back is absolutely fantastic and really worth a visit.
Warning: Opening (and closing) times can be erratic.
