The Lytton is definitely on an improving trajectory. The food service can be a bit slow, particularly at lunchtime when you may have limited time, and the music is probably not to everyone's taste but the beers are kept in great condition and there is a very good range of cask ales including Wherry, Doom Bar and Adnam's Bitter. The food itself is OK, with utterly enormous portions.
The staff are friendly and efficient and the locals are welcoming and witty. There is a lot of outdoor seating, in the beer garden at the back, at the front, and to the side of the car park. The location is excellent, especially in the summer when you can look out onto Knebworth park. There is a footpath from New Knebworth, which means that you don't have to walk (much) along the road. Turn left off Park Lane just after the bridge over the A1(M).
A million miles better than the execrable Station Pub.

The Robin Hood and Little John, Rabley Heath
This place is run by Steve Nye who used to be the landlord of the Lytton Arms, the other tolerable pub near Knebworth. Whereas the Lytton has definitely gone downhill since Steve left, this one has benefitted from his experience of running a pub.
The food is reasonable value with huge portions. You can eat in the bar on the restaurant; I always go for the former, but I think the menu is the same. The beer is McMullens, but at least kept well. There is a big garden, open fires, dogs welcome, no music, free papers, grumpy old men complaining about how things have gone to the dogs (no, not those dogs), low beams, tacky furniture, draughty windows, unreliable heating, not everything on the menu will be available on any given day.
What more could you want?

The Station, Knebworth
This pub has been up for sale by GK for the best part of a year. It has now closed, presumably sold, at least sold conditionally.
A campaign has been launched to bring it back as a community-owned pub. See https://www.stationpub.org.uk.
