Malt House, Brindley Place

This pub appears to be suffering from S.C.A (Sudden Customer Apperance). Ive been in twice recently and the same problem re-occured twice, it gets quite busy, quite suddenly and there are not enough staff. For example a basketball game finished at the NIA and the place gets swamped while their is only one person behind the bar. Another bad point is the lack of selection, with the weather being quite nice recently it would be a good idea to invest in the Magnars bottles and get some more nice ales on tap (and have all the taps actually conected to something in the cellar). The pub, over all is average in its service and beer quality most of the time, however its only real distingushing feature is the nice location.

The Prince of Wales, Birmingham

This pub has got very nice staff, a good selection of real ale and also a lovely tradition interior. Should impress those who like traditional pubs and ale. It is, like most of the best pubs in Birmingham, hidden away. One of my favourates. Definitly worth a visit for anyone looking for real ale and a nice pub.

The Shakespeare Inn, Birmingham

A good pub, definitly above average compared to some of the other bars in this area. Good, however small selection on real ale......I quite enjoyed a broadside. Well done for introducing a complete non smoking ban !. Its a shame that all the pubs in the area couldnt be as brave and follow the lead.

The Shakespeare, Birmingham

Nice pub, quite an enjoyable atmosphere. A bit of an old mans pub at night, and a student/ lunch time workers pub during the day. Pleasent and enjoyable with good food. Best traditional bar in summer row.

Revolution, Birmingham

I really dont understand how this place is in business......awkward layout (Silly tables), no real choice in beers. Alcho-pops and Spirits appear to be its main selling points, what a sad lifeless place. Will avoid this place in the future.

The City Tavern, Birmingham

Really enjoyed this pub. Went in originally just to find out what was behind the windows which cant be seen through. Very impressed, really friendly staff, Quick Service and a good selection of ale, beers and two ciders. Good promotions. I will be back.

The Wellington, Birmingham

Excellent Pub, Good selection of Trad Ale and Ciders. I like the plain quite atmosphere during the day, though some nights it can become very busy. The layout needs to be changed to accommodate more seating and can become smokey. All-though despite these few small critism's it is in overview; a hidden Jewel in the centre of the city, and should remain the hidden watering hole for real ale and cider lovers.

The Tap and Spile, Birmingham

Its definitly got character, Good place to go and chat with friends before heading to BroadStreet. Nice view of the canal (and walkabout) from the downstairs. Beers and ciders are a little on the expensive side but the real stuff from the hand pumps are worth it. Toilets do get a bit messy when busy.
