well here's one then. years back early 1980's when it forst came about there was more bikers who frequented this pub than any one else. the landlord at the time was a guy called Roger. He was actually quite a decent guy and a good friend to his regulars. i mean if you were short of cash he would sub you your beer until payday but we always paid him - he was great like that. i used to sneak up there to avoid my younger brother, i'd get there at opening at six and Rog would say "pint Sam" then we would here a motorbike and he would say "shall i make that two! it was my brother Simon i could go no where with out him. In fact we were so close one day in the Marmion down tamworth the barman thought we were husband and wife! lol! you know stormy normy (norman yates) i am his sister and simon is his brother we live in the north east now. our mom was quite well known in wilnecote too Norma Burtenshaw but sadly she passed away 18th december 2003 - R.I.P. anyway see you all some day. take care noe - later - SAMKFM

The Tavern in the Town, Tamworth

yep the old Tavern in the Town (TITT) was a bikers pub and I had some good old mates back then. Hello to Butch, Big Boo, Tich and Daydo. Remember Butty - good lad! Stormy Normy (Yates)- my brother!
