The White Hart, Stoke Newington
Very good for football, especially the Arsenal games. The DJ can be a bit random - once they were playing loud techno at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon as people were eating their lunch. Interesting choice.
The garden is good though, as the only place round here with one this good is over at the Londesbrough. It's very dark, so cosy for winter, but remains dark in summer, so head out the back to the garden.

It's now a BRB, with all the same things as the others - pizzas, happy hour, cocktail specials. The bar is just huge though, possibly too big to have a good atmosphere unless it gets very busy. This definitely feels more of a bar than pub, unlike some of their other places. It has a big pool table section out the back but take on the regulars at your peril.

Considering you are in the centre of town this place is a bargain, especially during happy hour. Pizzas are good for the price too. On weekends though it always seems like a big hook up point for 16 year old drinkers around in the back section! Loads of them each time I've been in.

When the undergrads are in town this pub is more like a playschool with booze as they have a giant screen with Playstation football on permanently. By 10pm it's often one free-kick from kicking off into a riot. During the holidays it's a pretty dependable boozer and still stays busy enough upstairs for some atmosphere.

I'd say that Gus_Gus's own "pathetic braying" describes the idiots that must go here and love it - it must be their special "approach to life". Oh dear.
As someone said here this place this place is part of the chain which includes Tiger tiger, The Loop, Digress, Zoo Bar, Onanon, Sway etc. I suppose that lets you know what you are in for. Check out reviews on those places for fun, hilarious! and see the weight of opinion on these bars - they are all the same pretty much and I don't know how I have had so much bad luck that I have had to visit any of them. Horses for courses I suppose.

Have to agree with others that this is much better than any O'Neills I have come across. It really is quite an impressive pub building. No one looks out of place in there - young, old, chavs and ponces all seem to get on ok.

The Swan, Stockwell
It's like Smithfields market, but with less blood. All good fun, just be aware of what you are letting yourself in for!
