The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Vauxhall
Watched the GMFA/Royal Vauvhall Tavern sports afternoon with partner & had a great time, beer tent area was busy but good service. After the races we decided to have a drink in the Tavern with, only for ME to be tapped on the arm by security (who couldn't be bothered to get off his stool & who didn't really want to be there on a Bank Holiday) & informed with such tact "It's full"
Maybe it was because we didn't look like the Grunt or Phil Mitchell lookalike who went in two seconds before/
My rating would have to be no points
I will be back for the 2011 GMFA/Tavern Sports day but will have my drinks from the beer tent rather than the Tavern

The female friend (J) in our group had lived in the Hammersmith area for many years & had never ever been in the pub,
She was very pleased & surprised by the layout of bar & especially the garden area to the rear of the establishment.
The staff are very friendly/welcoming, there was also a Vodka promotion event on the evening we visited, As Emma was collecting the glasses she came across & had a very intersting chat with us about the pub.
A nice welcoming pub which had a good selection of ales.

The Dog and Partridge, Staines
I visited the pub lunchtime Friday 24th April 09 for a couple of pints (needed a couple of drinks after an interview earlier on that morning), it was quiet except for a few local, bar staff friendly. The landlady came across to intoduce herself as I was sitting on my own & had a chat about the pub etc & said they were going to have live music etc, it maybe a large local pub but I'm sure the landlady (Diane?) will make sure you are made welcome.
Ignore the sign that say it's up for sale, it may look closed from the outside but there is a very competent landlady who is going to make many changes there, so give it a try & I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the welcome you receive.
I will be returning for a evening visit in the near future so check it out again re live music

Visit & use these beer festivals or lose them. I rate this pub festival 10 out of 10.

Visited Saturday 6th September 08, Good pub, intersting selection of beers including black cat, camra members also receive 50p off their pint of beer, friendly bar staff.
The pub has alot of character & I agree lights could be dimmer but at least you can see what you are eating/drinking. Try it, plus it didn't seem to have a pub bore

Is this a training pub for Witherspoons as every time I been in there are new staff behind the bar. Service is fair & food is fine & with Wetherspoon you know what you are getting 9/10.
The choice of pubs in Norbury are very very limited Wetherspons& the Norbury Hotel, since they closed the two others a few years ago. One thing about Norbury is that you get great curries etc.

Have used this pub for many years never any major issues, problem now seems to be loud staff?-loud friends of staff?-loud off duty staff? who seem to use larger bar as their own little club room when it's quieter. So go into the small bar but don't expect to get served too quickly as the staff are usually bonding in larger bar.
If trying it out for the first time go towards the week when there is a good mixture of customer, standards have dropped. All I can say about the gents toilets is don't use the one in the middle unless you want to male bond or you are very very slim

Best Pub in down town Streatham
Have used this pub for a few years when Stena & Steve ran the bar (where did they go? especially stena)
Like all pubs you have the characters & I'm sure they wouldn't like to upset Isobel (landlady)& her staff as they would be shown the door politely of course.
Isobel the landlady & No 1 host, who has been there for a few years run avery tight ship & knows how to deal with staff & customers alike. If you like value for money & need substanance go for the english

The Bag O' Nails, Victoria
Popped in for a pint with a friend before travelling back to SE & SW London ( Next time I willI have to remember to take off my invisible outfit off when I go to the bar) after being ignored for awhile - we were asked "Is any one waiting" we both had to have a double look around as we were the the only ones at the bar & had no empty glasses in front of us.
I decided to use the gents facilities & wished I had paid the 30p for the Victoria Railway Station facilities
It will be a long time before I go back, my sympathies goe out to the tourists who thihk this a typical English pub.
