I really like the Cross Keys. 17th Century coaching inn with a youthful touch. I like to sit in the penny bar (the bar surface is a layer of polished pre-decimal pennies) with a cup of filter coffee in the mornings.

This pub is as good as ever, and Paul Wright's comments still hold true. Add to all the previous: real log fire, Westons scrumpy cider from the wood and old fashioned opening times.

The Beaufort Arms, Wooton Bassett

This pub has changed hands a couple of times recently. A previous tenant tried to send it 'up-market', but its reputation as a biker pub stuck too fast for it to work. I'll get back when there's more to say.
