Once again dropped in on my way home. Now they have 7 beers on. Alas couldn't sample them all but dark star (partridge and hophead) and Jennings Cumberland were all in first class condition. I hope business brings me to Waterloo more often...

Fast becoming my favourite pub in London. The cellar is immaculate I've sampled many different beers, often never heard of, and only ever had one slightly iffy pint. It was changed with no fuss by the charming barstaff. A1.

It is so refreshing to find a pub near a railway station that is not your run of the mill transport hub dross. The Kings Arms is first class; proper old boozer with delicious beer. When I went in on an extremely busy thursday night they had six ales on - Doom Bar, Pride, Brakspear Oxford Gold, Deuchars IPA, Ringwood Boondoggle and Adnams Bitter. I sampled them all except Adnams which I don't like and all were pretty much perfectly kept. A fairly good selection, I think, a few less well known amongst the ubiquity of pride and (increasingly) doom bar.
I am surprised about some of the staff reviews - they all seemed extremely capable of dealing with the high volume of customers quickly and they seemed to be having fun while they did it - a far cry from the sullen morose characters painted in previous reviews.
The pub itself is a lovely building in a great old terraced street, split into two bars and provides a very pleasant refuge to enjoy one or five beers before the dreaded commute back home.
If only I could afford one of the houses on Roupell St...

The Uxbridge Arms, Notting Hill
Three visits here and fine tribute thrice. Proper boozer with proper professional staff. Great in summer, best in winter with warming fires. Good camaraderie at all times of the year. Just a shame it's in west London. Ha.
