Bathams and Hop Garden Gold both excellent. Nice lunch, reasonably priced - good weather too. Very quiet for lunchtime on August bank holiday Monday. Hope a few more people manage the trip out to Boundstone - this place deserves your custom.

Could do with extending its ale selection beyond GK IPA - or maybe I've just been unlucky when I've looked in.

The Hen and Chicken, Upper Froyle
Stopped in at lunchtime on a walk to Alton to find a rather fine selection of Badger ales. Tried the Tanglefoot, which went down nicely. Also a friendly ginger tom cat.

The Halfway House, Bucks Horn Oak
Very friendly family-run pub. Reputation for good food is well-deserved.

Brief visit a couple of weeks ago. Tried a pint of Wood's Wallop (I think) in the sunshine on the terrace. Wonderfully refreshing. A welcome stop on a 10 mile walk. Keen to re-visit.

Early Bird in fine form. The Shepherd Neame Best even better. Will be interested to see how the "atmosphere" changes when it has to go smoke free.

Re-visited a few weeks back. Tried a pint of Red River. So good, I had to try it again. One of our favourite pubs in the area - well worth the detour if you can find it.

More limited beer selection than usual. Tried Moondance and TEA - not bad, but a little flat for my taste.

27th May 07 - eight beers on as usual. Managed to sample 3 or 4 during "brief" visit. Exmoor Gold a knockout. Refurbishment hasn't spoilt this pub in my view. Beer choice and condition consistently excellent. Well worth the mile and a half walk from home!

Plough, Farnham
Things have moved on for the better - now a Shepherd Neame tie, under new management and refurbished throughout. Looks really good - light and airy. Tried a couple of Late Reds, in very good condition, though pricey at 3. Well worth the stroll along West Street. A promising new start.
