Gave this pub a try after seeing the reviews, but was very disappointed with the real ales today. Decent enough old fashioned pub, but it was absolutely freezing cold & expensive.
I decided to take a walk round to The New Inn in Easton and found it lovely and warm with wood burner roaring. The real ales were excellent too. Decided on a spot of lunch which was good value and delicious.
Would recommend The New Inn.

I am sorry to say we visited this pub on Tuesday & had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We were unhappy with our carvery and asked to speak to manager. The manageress came to our table and began to argue with us concerning our complaints. She was very aggressive and did not offer to rectify any of our issues. She refused to give us her company or area managers details. The landlord then approached us and also began to argue with us. We ended up having to leave with the manageress shouting at us as we left. Don't think I have ever experienced such bad service, we had our 3 young children with us and they were traumatised from the whole situation. I hate to write such a bad review but have no other choice from the landlord and landlady's actions.
Bad food, bad service, very bad attitude to customers, nappy bin overflowing in toilets and disgusting cleanliness. This used to be a fantastic pub for families, such a shame.

This pub just gets better and better. The new freeholders have now refurbished the entire pub including beer garden & patio. I would highly recommend the Sunday Roast and restaurant menu too. Great selection of wines, real ales, lagers & ciders. Lovely sunny garden. This pub definately stands out from the rest.

New Inn, Portland
Thanks New Inn for a lovely afternoon on your cosy sofas in front of your roaring wood burner. Real ales were excellent as always and lunch delicious too. Staff friendly as always. Highly recommend this pub.
