The What the Dick Inns, Rochester
We used to use this pub quite often in the summer as the small but pleasant garden to the rear is a nice place to while away an hour or two.
The food here is really superb, having said that it is only available as and when the landlady feels like doing it.
Of the six times we asked to order food we only managed to get a meal on two occasions.
On one occasion despite it being past 7pm we were told discreetly by the bar lady that the landlady would be doing food later as she was engrosed in a tv soap cliffhanger upstairs!
Bar area can be extremely cliquey too, regulars rule this area and can be quite rude.
The pub itself is full of promise but sadly fails to deliver.

Seems to have gone even further downhill.
Used to have very helpful bar staff and managers that actually had a knowledge of beers and wine (previous bar manager Lesley), now mainly students earning a meagre pound or two.
Toilets can get very wiffy, cutlery always stained, bar top always wet and glasses hazy.
Not a place to venture to of an evening, aim to leave by around 7 ish to be safe.
Fine if you need a quick, cheap breakfast and there is always a good ale or two on but this is not a place to linger, shame.
My rating is boosted by the great price of the breakfast and the ales only.

We go there late on a Sunday afternoon for a couple of pints of Goachers mild. The front bar is always warm and welcoming with a lovely open fire and a very relaxed atmosphere, dogs appear welcome and books abound for the avid reader.
The choice of beers is excellent and the staff polite.
The rear bar does tend to be very cliquey and we have only ventured in there twice, on both occasions we shuffled around a bit feeling out of place then mooched round to the other bar.
Still one of our favourite pubs on a Sunday more so during the winter months.

The Coopers Arms, Rochester
An excellent pub with good beers, an ample pleasant garden and good staff.
A great Sunday afternoon pub before nipping home for your dinner.
Also fine of an evening.
No frills, just a decent pub.
