Probably the best pub in the area, great selection of real ales, guest ales, etc, always busy, and despite an emphasis on food, manages to be a proper pub too.Great views of Rye and the Brede valley.Very nice

Nice little pub two miles up the hill from Rye.Used to have a massive beer garden which appears to have been mostly sold off for development.Nevertheless,a great choice for a lazy sunday lunch, friendly, good food and a country pub feel.

strange, cliquey place, very seldom visited by me,although the beer patio facing onto the high street is not without charm, and a good place to quaff the sulphurous lager on offer.ffs

Glad to say the "wipers" has changed hands, pleasant guy now running the place which seems to be reverting to its former glory. The beer garden<the best one in rye has been given a make over as have the toilets which used to be vile>live bands every friday<slightly older crowd makes for a fantastic night out great friendly atmosphere loads of people dancing(mostly badly)but a great laugh dont miss it!

Used to love this pub but since my last visit a year ago,its become more like a dysfunctional youth club .The tall, rather disturbed-looking bar"boy" who was on during my visit appears to be a sociopath and was drunk, rude and annoying, more interested in showing off to his inbred mates than serving anyone.Whats wrong with adult bar staff?Harveys was good however. Definitely not for grown ups, although the restaurant out back apparently has a good reputation,if you dont mind wading through the retards to get there, that is.Depressing.

The Rainbow Trout, Broad Oak
interestingly enough this pub is genuinely haunted, particularly the conservatory out the back.Clothes are tugged by invisible "children"the doors lock and bolt themselves, very, very weird.Other than that, pleasant atmosphere,no complaints.
