I like what they've done here. The eating area at the back has been expanded whilst the front of the pub is dedicated to drinkers. Prices are reasonable and the service is good.

The Falcon, St Albans

Rather unwelcoming. I went in to get out of the rain. After 20 minutes the rain was even heavier but I made my excuses and left. The Greene King IPA was in reasonable condition, but that's not difficult, is it?

The Portland Arms, St Albans

Very good ale, at slightly cheaper prices than you get at some other Fullers pubs. The "traditional" Portland food menu is still there, but the new chef does Specials too later in the week. Also live music most Sunday nights. Nice one.
