The Red Lion, Snargate

Brilliant, wonderful, traditional, beautiful, welcoming, incedible pub! In fact, there are not enough superlatives for this pub.

A bit like stepping back in time, or in to someones front room... This is a positive thing!... I couldn't recommend this pub enough.

Doris is a lovely woman with some great stories to tell... And they are all worth listening too.

Sooty is a really friendly dog, and one of the oly dogs in the world that i actually like.

I was in this pub on Sunday night with a couple of friends who had never been before, and we were all made extremely welcome throughout the evening.

One of the best pubs in the world without a doubt!

The Harveys Wine Bar, Folkestone

Not a wine bar at all, instead it's a slightly sad looking pub.

It makes a great pre-gig venue as the background music is always good.

The beer isn't all that great, and when my mate was presented with a cloudy, sour tasting beer the barmaid was not very happy about changing it and insisted that he perservered with it... Not great sevice in my mind!

The Chambers, Folkestone

Great basement bar with good beer and good food.

The bar staff are always friendly and the customers always seem to be a good crowd. Young and trendy without being pretentious.

Always come here (almost ritually) before gigs at the Leas Cliff Hall. A great pre-gig venue!

The Woolpack, Brookland

Definitely one of the best pubs in Kent!

A traditional, friendly, well-run pub with great ales and even better food.

In fact, the food is worth mentioning twice... Not only is it wonderful, there is always so much of it, and for such a low price... The best value food for miles!!!

I just wish you didn't have to drive to get to it! I would happliy make it my local!

The Plough Inn, New Romney

An okay pub on the outskirts of New Romney high street.

The beer is reasonable, if a little over priced, and is usually served with a smile by either the landlord or one of the friendly bar staff.

The karaoke is very popular (although I personally hate karaoke!) and is usually held on a Thursday night.

The food is reasonable, if not exactly exciting, and is well-priced.

There is a nice pub garden at the rear, and plenty of parking at the front and round the side.

I would rate it as one of the top five pubs in New Romney.. Just.

The Cinque Ports Arms, New Romney

A welcoming little pub at the end of New Romney High Street.

The pub is divided into two bars and a restaurant, which have all been recently decorated.

There isn't a huge selection of real ales, but what they do have is of a consistently high quality.

They are also the only pub for miles that serves the wonderful Budvar lager... Brilliant stuff!

There is a large garden and patio to the rear which are always well used in the summer months, and where occassional entertainment is held.

I haven't eaten here for years, but the smell from the kitchen is always good and the prices are very reasonable.

Overall, definitely one of the better pubs in the area!

The Warren Inn, New Romney

One of the best pubs in New Romney without a doubt!

It is one of two Sheperd Neame pubs in New Romney, and without a doubt it is the better of the two.

The pub has a pool table and darts board, with thriving (if not all that successful) teams for both.

The food is supposed to be excellnt, and very good value, although I am yet to sample it... It is on my list of things to do though!

The landlord and landlady are extremely welcoming and friendly... I definitely can't fault them. They've done a great job on what used to be quite a shabby pub.

It is also imporved by the fact that it is a little way out of the town centre. This means a bit of a walk to get there for most people. This leads to the pub being filled with people that really want to be there!

There is also a good beer garden which is very child-friendly. A bonus for those hot summer afternoons!

The Ship Hotel, New Romney

Not the best pub in New Romney, but not the worst.

It's nice to sit in the rather lovely beer garden on a summer's afternoon, and it is a nice venue to meet with friends before moving on.

However, if you visit this pub on a Friday or Saturday night you will be very disappointed!

It takes an age to get served, and what is served is usually very below average. The bar staff try hard but are not helped out by the landlord and lady.

The landlord stands at the end of the bar and frowns at everyone who dares to order a drink... Very unwelcoming! Plus, I'm sure this just makes the staff even slower.

The prices are much too high.

The place also completely lacks atmosphere! This used to be an amazing ye olde worlde pub once upon a time but now it looks more like a 'McPub' unfortunately!

I have eaten here a couple of times and have found the food to be very nice. In fact, I highly recommend the Sunday lunch. However, I haven't eaten here for a couple of months and I have heard a lot of bad reviews from friends recently. Which is a shame.

All in all, a pub to visit when all the others are shut!

The Parrot, Canterbury

Absolutely brilliant pub! Not only the best pub in Canterbury, but I would say the best pub in Kent!

The array of real ales and lagers is amazing (if slightly pricey) and always served with a smile.

The food is great (I can't recommend the steak sandwich enough) and well priced.

The bands are always brilliant and I have never been disappointed.

The toilets are great fun as well! People write amuzing little poems and quotes on the walls, which always keeps me occupied for a little while... in fact... I'm sure my friends must wonder what I'm up to in there!

A definite 10 out of 10 pub!!!

The Prince of Wales, New Romney

A real regulars pub with a 'real pub' feel.

Masterbrew and London Pride are the standard real ales, and various guest ales appear from time to time... Usually local brews.

No food is served, which I think adds to the pub rather than detracting from it, but all the usual bar snacks are available.

The main drinking bar has a piano, dart board, fruit machine, and a TV that is only used for important sporting events.

The smaller bar, known as the pool room, has a juke box, a pool table and little else. This bar is normally filled with the younger crowd.

The fact that it is such a 'regulars' pub can make it seem a bit daunting when you first walk through the door. However, MOST people are friendly enough and more than happy to chat to anyone that wlaks through the door.
