One of only 2 decent pubs in Taunton, this one and the newley opened Plough on Station Rd, great atmos and best of all decent beer...Dartmoor and Tribute both from Cornish Brewery who now own the pub and have put a manager in. Great Beer garden in the summer, which The Plough lacks, having said that beeter choice of local ales in the plough than The Racehorse.....overall Great Pub!!

The Plough has been open now for about 3 weeks, and as the last poster said its possibly the BEST pub in Taunton. Great beer and good food served in a warm atmos. How the owner is going to keep up being open all day every day i don't know, but i hope it lasts. Would be good to have a guest beer in for a week poss Sharps DOOMBAR along with the local Cotleigh and Taunton Real Ales. Still not to sure about the huge front expanse of glass, still abit like a gold fish bowl. The cider seems to atract the dodgy clientele and groups of the local youths, but overall great to see a decent pub back in Taunton...just The Plough and The Racehorse.

Great new pub, about time to, after 2 year's closed having drunk there under two landlords John&Sonia and then Simon&Dawn its great to have the LOCAL back. Willow the new landlady has made a great job of doing up the place its bright, poss to bright lighting needs turning down and blinds putting up at the windows as its a bit of a fish bowl at the moment, good use of space. The beer is good, good choice of local beers Cotleigh and Taunton's own Taunton Ale and six local ciders... as the last reviewer said not the best way to keep beer on the bar in casks seeing they have a perfectcally good celler out the back. Food is on the way....Its great to have it back!!

This pub is now called The Plough, and has been open for about 3 months, great pub, great food, and a Landlady who keeps her regulars happy with decent local ales and ciders and fantastic hospitably...long may it continue!...
