Used the pub regularly, ate there too, and have to say we really like the place. The young staff are all keen - what they lack in age and training they make up for in personality. Food was very good, even when the fed us after the kitchens were supposed to be closed for the evening.
Only fault I can find is that the beer is ridiculously expensive - well over 4 for a Peroni!! Puts a big hole in the wallet if you're there for an ening wth a mate like ine! Otherwise, very very good.

Stumbled upon this place by accident while visiting the totally over-hyped Sanctum. What a find! Real pub food, no gastro nonsense, so the price reflects this. Wife and I went for a meal a few evenings later, three courses, beer and wine and paid less than 50. Staff can be a little young and inexperienced at times, but the general friendliness from behind the bar is tip-top.
If you want a nice country pub at pub prices, you'd be hard pushed to find better. Sundays can be busy so always book, plus the locals can get a bit noisy at the weekends - its still worth the trip.

Not been the same since old Keith left I'm afraid. The persistant use of young, untrained waiting staff really grates. Award in 2010? I dont think so - it went straight down hill when it changed hands.
