Visited newly refurbished Red Cross on sat 31st July. Great night, brilliant band - The Gems - good atmosphere.

Looks like this pub is turning round at last after months of doom and gloom.

The Running Horse, Leatherhead

Saturday music nights have gone down at the Running Horse. They used to be great fun - but booking the same bands over and over people just get bored.

Take saturday, No Nonsense - too loud !! And how many times can you see a grumpy old bloke do a drum solo? The first time it was great but that was a couple of years ago - now it's just tedious. He's so rude and grumpy, I wonder why he bothers. This isn't entertaining.

Come on Running Horse let's put the fun back into music nights - find some decent new bands.

The Station Hotel, South Nutfield

If you want friendly service and a decent atomsphere forget the Station Hotel. If you want to enjoy good time music don't bother with the Station Hotel. If you're looking for a worthwhile jam night - go somewhere else. Apart from being probably the grubbiest pub in Surrey, the landlord has to be the rudest and certainly the most miserable. Some of the bands playing on saturdays are ok but there's no fun atmposphere. The jam night is run by a 60+ wannabe guitar player who's obviously a legend in his own bedroom - one of those guys who really thinks he knows more about music than anyone else. Give the Station Hotel a miss - the locals do.

The Cardinal Wolsey, Hampton Court

Visited this pub for the 1st and last time on friday 22 May 2009. I ordered 1 pint Spitfire, half of lager and a small coke - total �9.50 ... I queried with barmaid and she confirmed �9.50 - that's the most expensive round of three drinks i've EVER bought. Disgusting.
