The King William IV, St Albans
Refurbished in 2004 and the results are pretty impressive. Now a decent quality pub/restaurant.
Excellent choice of beers and lagers (all well kept)and food is very popular.
Friendly (young)staff are well controlled by the Landlady!

The Skinners Arms, Kings Cross
Old traditional pub with plenty of space. Good IPA and prompt, friendly service.
Can get crowded in the evenings-so must be doing something good!

Printworks, Clerkenwell
Haven't been in the Printworks for the last 18 months and, wow, has it gone downhill! The beer was dreadful stuff (even the Guiness was poor-and I didn't think you could get that stuff wrong). The 2 Marstons were "weak" as was the summer ale. Resorted to bottled beer, which you shouldn't need to do in a Weatherspoons Pub.
The attitude of the staff was poor (in her rush to have a ciggie break, she forgot to finish pouring the Guiness-perhaps she knew how crap it was ?). This place used to have really good Managers (like Danny) and the beers were always excellent- and as cheap as chips. Now they're not even that cheap.
Don't bother.
