Kings Arms, Marazion

This is easily the best pub in Marazion. Tested them all on a recent trip and the Kings Arms had the best beer and the best food. The evening menu was exceptional.

The bar staff were friendly and helpful and the locals were welcoming.

Most impresively all of this was achieved whilst retaining the apperance and ambience of a proper pub.

Highly recomended.

The Black Swan, Martyr's Green

I have been coming to this pub for 13 years, since I was 16, It is cleaner since the refurb and the beer is better and the food is better. However it just does not feel like a pub any more. It feels like a trendy wine bar. In fact on seeing it for the first time, post refurb, I was surprised to remember that it had never been a bank.

Nice now, but not the same at all. England needs proper pubs, not more restaurants.

The Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green

Went there for lunch today. Waited ages for food when not overly busy. Food was good when it did arrive. Worst pint of bitter (youngs, usually v. good) that I have had in a long time. Flat and warm.

The Shepherd and Flock, Farnham

Went here last night. Tried "Grave Digger", on as part of the CAMRA Mild May campaign. Very good indeed. A surprising find in the middle of a roundabout, but well worth it. Food looked nice as well, so I'll be going back to try it out.
