The Nog Inn, Wincanton

Had an excellent meal last week, really good quality and value and great friendly service as well, nice to see a pub really busy, beers were good as well, will stop next time we are in the area

The City Arms, Cardiff

a welcome stop on a cold rainy night in Cardiff - pub very busy but staff still had time to advise on the selection of beer and offered the chance to try before buying. Had the atomic power and very good it was too. Unable to sample more as last bus was calling... will hopefully have a longer session next time we are in town

The England's Gate, Bodenham

We went to the New Years Eve party with the Roving Crows - the pub was very busy but the two staff managed to keep serving with all evening with minimal delays, not sure how they kept going so well. The Wye Valley HPA was my favourite on the night, closely followed by the Hobson's twisted spire. My brother in law liked the Butty Bach. Although not a typical night for a pub will definitely be calling again after this really good night out

The Artillery Arms, Old Street

the lower bar was packed out by about 5.30, fish and chips very good as was the sticky toffee pudding, sample the castle rock preservation ale, very good and fullers esb. Only slight whinge is the beer price, but this is London for you. staff extremely friendly and helpful and a good atmosphere with mix of after work drinkers and locals.

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, Castleton

Visited on a Thursday afternoon for a post walk pint - very quiet though not surprised as it was mid January - excellent range of beers, Barnsley and Castle Rock and Wincle all on good form. Returned for an evening meal, nice atmosphere and food very good, very reasonably priced and substantial desserts in particular - nice to see that two beers that had finished earlier had already been replaced. will come here again

The Swan, Faringdon

Stopped off last night - 6 beers on, had the Thames Tickler, Ha'penny Ale and Four Seasons, all from the Halfpenny Brewery, good range from light to dark, pork scratchings looked worth a try too. Good atmosphere, open fire and friendly bar staff. Will be back. Thanks Mary for driving...

White Horse Inn, Litton Cheney

Visited during August whilst staying at the excellent youth hostel next door - Palmers 200 very drinkable as was the Copper - the Wednesday steak night meant that the all reservations were taken by about 8.00 the night before but the takeaway option saved the day, good portions and very tasty. Will be back.

The Bell Inn, Frampton on Severn

Popped in yesterday whilst on on the bike for a lunchtime pint - Mole Catcher on good form, very impressed with pub, will be looking to try the food next time as the tuna baguette and chips that wandered past to another table looked inviting....perfect settting next to the village green, reputedly the longest in the country. Cricket pitch is very narrow and looks like you could easily become an extra fielder without moving from your chair.

The Evening Star, Brighton

Worth the walk from the Royal Pavilion - very much enjoyed the Hophead, good atmosphere, had to leave just before the Sunday afternoon singer started. Will be back next time we are Brighton

The Yorkshire Terrier Inn, York

visited after trying the 3 legged mare - once again bar staff very friendly - more good beer from York Brewery - we were there when it was very cold in December and could have done with a bit of heat to thaw us out - sofas were very comfy

The Blue Bell, York

excellent pub although the small size could put you off as not much room to stand in the two bars if all seats are taken, bar staff needed to be wrapped up during the december cold spell but the range of beers made up for the temperature.

lively mix of locals and visitors searching for a good pint, good selection of bottled beers too.

The Three Legged Mare, York

Visited in December 2010 during the very snowy weather, went in 3 times during our stay (we did not take much persuading), having had the Terrier in a Cirencester pub was keen to try again on its home turf and it did not disappoint - the Guzzler was a firm favourite for my wife. Sampled the Constantine and Centurion Ghost as well.

Staff very friendly on each visit and had time to talk. Excellent atmosphere and well a worth a visit.
