New chef thinks vegetarians are dieters. Added to seven pumps of watery Milton beer, and one flat, bland guest, and I'll probably not bother coming here again.

Have to agree with dylan1970 - new management making a real go of the place. Castle Rock Harvest Pale and Elgood's Golden Newt both excellent. Sausage rolls got a big thumbs up from @TheHappyBat.
bobwillis - I've been working round the corner from this pub since it was Houricans. Previous owners did "gastro" food and had beer because it was obligatory. This crew appears to actually like ale, as well as understanding the difference between a demonstration of the chef's skill and a meal...

Alas! No more grilled halloumi. But they allow takeaways, which should be good.
Excellent service, a well chosen range of booze, and HRGiger prints.

Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington
Glasses for the Belgian beers "on tap" are lined. Ale glasses are dimple mugs.
I think the pub is suffering from the food, surprisingly. It actually feels uncomfortable casually drinking when you see the staff scurrying around trying to make room for "party of 4 for dinner".

Nice little beer festival with London beers. Staff seemed very helpful and friendly. I like the eclectic mix of furniture.

Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington
I have been here three times in three days, and a sun-soaked afternoon leads me to the conclusion that this is a marvel of a pub.
Seven english beers and two apple/pear things on draft. Five belgian taps. Three lagers and some wheaty nonsense.
This is the way to drink.
Food menu probably great for carnivores-non veggie chips??-but the cheese plate was excellent.
I think I may be here tomorrow...

The Betjeman Arms, St Pancras International Station
Yay! I got a full pint!
Still got the door you can't open with beer in your hands, which seems like a really silly idea, but I'm not an architect...
Barmen fighting over the handpumps to pour ale fast enough is a first in my experience for a station pub.

8 excellent beers more than compensate for the very City crowd.
The theme is executed with great taste, and as a central London bolthole it has everything to recommend.
Beer fest pretty magnificent, too.

Lovely little pub, sadly let down by the terrible tank-top on the landlord.
Food was excellent; beer from 'nam, too, which was a bonus.
Would drink again aa++.

Also went to the beer festival. Bloomin marvellous.
Fine ales at a bargain price of 1.99; when a beer wasn't available they nipped out the back and found a bottle of it! Excellent atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff. Nice interior, and the only pub I've been in where the toilets were properly heated in winter.
Will certainly be back.

Lovely pub ; great range of beer and no-quibble service! Lunch finishes early, so can't comment on that...

I remember coming into this pub when it was its former self; this is a true transformation!
Interior is well designed; nice beer garden, and big windows onto the brewery to see what they are up to.
The ale is excellent; we were lucky enough to get a brewery tour!
That Thai food menu is good for complicated veggies, too.
Will surely be back soon.

The Freemasons Arms, Hampstead
There was an ale. I wouldn't go here for a drink, though...

The Old Bull and Bush, North Hampstead
Well, they have an ale. There might be other positives, but I am at a loss to think of them.

The Garden Gate, Hampstead Heath
Food service was extremely strange. Nice glasses for the beer. Beer garden very nice, with magnificent views of the opticians opposite, and some lovely growing things as well as a very 'in country' verandah. Staff seemed more trashed than the punters, which given the location is quite understandable.
Many of the sandwiches appeared to contain 'greenery' to the surprise of the diners. Free-ranging small children provide an entertaining navigation hazard for the less sober punter.

It's a lovely interior, a diverse jukebox, and I've always found the staff friendly. But on any given Sunday it's a nightmare of free-range urchins, and the "fuller's with token guest" can pall after a while... Still, on Green Lanes it's a gem of a boozer-worth the journey for the pizza chips alone.

The Live and Let Live, Cambridge
Popped in for a couple, and every time I went to the bar they had added a beer. Truly a gem of a pub. Fred Dibnah's obit is still on one noticeboard...

Pub no longer has Sky. After Sky started getting the police to harass publicans, many pubs dropped the TV Footy.
Rob's genius led to the WII on the big screen, resultingin a tavern where every time you bowl, the world cheers with you.

I had a couple of hours to kill in Leicester after a meeting at the nearby university, and this pub filled the void marvellously. Several Oakham beers on - the JHB was in fine form despite being near the end of the barrel, and the Inferno was excellent - and despite being a fussy bugger they did me a rather excellent plate of cheese for 2. It almost tempts me to go to Leicester more often.
