Usual Wetherspoons fare, though I don't think Eric would appreciate it bearing his name. Always seem to be staff 'in training' who can't work the till and muck up your food order. Upstairs toilets fine but downstairs disabled toilet, which my mum needs to use, disgusting. It's now unlocked but used by people too lazy to go upstairs. Toilet roll always missing, bin disappeared, soap dispenser now gone, hand drier not working and whole room in a general state. Food usually ok and staff polite. Often rowdy locals in who have abused other visitors, not good for Morecambe's image (such as it has!). Now has tables outside for coffees and non alcoholic drinks only.

The Hest Bank Hotel, Hest Bank
The Hest Bank changed hands during the summer of 2007 and now no longer does the specials it was so popular for, which is a shame. When we visited last, it was very very quiet and although the menu is very impressive, it is now quite expensive and has put us off returning. The glasses we were served our drinks in had to go back as they were stained. I hope they will reinstate the specials, as it is a lovely place to sit out by the canal during the summer and the canal bus stops there. Dogs are welcome in the garden and there is usually water out for them.

The Dolly Blue Tavern, Lancaster
Being the bar of the local football club it is, unsurprising, open whenever Lancaster City are playing at home (currently Unibond Division 1). Went there in August 2007 when my team played the Dolly Blues and were made very welcome. Very simple clubhouse type bar split into 2 rooms serving the usual array of lager, bitter, soft drinks and bottles - expect to get it in a plastic glass though. Not one of the best in terms of atmosphere and decor, but good in terms of welcome.
