The Wellington Arms, Southampton

Absolutely excellent pub, great beers and great atmosphere with log fire burning on a cold winter's night. Having just moved to the area I can feel very privileged to call this my local.
Sampled a pint of Swift One and a Harvest (?) bitter the other night and both tasted delicious. My girlfriend's cider was a little suspect though - perhaps the lines could do with some attention?
I thoroughly recommend this boozer.

Fitzroy Tavern, Fitzrovia

Good cheap pub. Charlotte steet atmosphere is excellent in the summer for standing around outside. I think the bar staff are great - there's not enough of them but they always know who's next and seem to be able to serve about 4 people at once. Would definitely benefit from a smoking ban inside though.

Really nice bar, worth a visit and the Sunday roasts are great. Don't order a knickerbocker glory though.

The Kings Head, Tooting

This pub used to be excellent. But oh dear, it has gone thoroughly downhill in the past 3 months or so.
I've been going for 5 years; initially it was a typical no-nonsense south london boozer, then it was renovated and turned into a more upmarket place, still retaining it's non-pretentious edge. Recently, however, it's been taken over. Now the big screen has gone, the staff are a lot less friendly and a lot less attractive, the music selection is absolutely dreadful and the food has gone from above average to pretty poor.
I still go here out of habit, though, and in the hope that things will change again.
