Always come back to this place...great atmosphere. Clientele are generally interlinked which means for a familiar evening. Staff are great and really friendly. Not too hard going on the drinks side either. My favorite pub in Manchester, always the first point of call on a night out, and in some cases - the only point of call. Dukebox is fantastic, shame the other pool table had to go but it's looking good from the refurbishment last year. Eva...hire me...

Clientele is generally a different generation, food's a tad pricey, the episode with a Cher impersonator will never be forgotton...
Think the glass collectors deserve more respect, that place is always packed solid Fri and Sat nights.
Lovely bar staff though in most cases...

Dave's a dude, so I can put up with the dukebox - saying that, I have nothing against the music selection when I'm in a mellow mood...
Never busy enough to make me leave, the food's spot on, and the pool table's not usually busy for long if at all.
Not a scope of clientele I find particularly preferable but doesn't bother me.
My local until...well I move.

The Shakespeare, Manchester
Nice authentic uneven floors...not the greatest place for my alcohol induced inner-ear problem but I've never gotten heavily inebriated there so all is well.
Not exactly ideal for a night out, but great to sit and relax and possibly have a bite to eat. Pretty quiet, not too busy, ideal for a quiet drink.
