The Finsbury Park, Finsbury Park

Decent boozer. Not a real ale joint. Bizarrely it sells Skol.
Regular live bands.
As stated previously the staff are friendly enough but they need to realise that there's no point in working behind such a long bar if you only notice the punters at one end of it.

The Southwark Tavern, London Bridge

Four of us had a cracking Sunday lunch here yesterday. Loads of different beers. Recommended.

The Cavendish Arms, Stockwell

I saw 5 bands here on Friday and had a right good boogie in the bar after. Great place.

The Plough, Upper Holloway

OK, it's a bit rough around the edges and there's some scary looking people loitering when you walk past it late at night, but I'm watching Euro 2012 in there now, supping on a pint of krone burg 1664 that only cost 2.50. Bargain.
Some cracking tunes being played too. Gooner flags everywhere. Nice friendly barmaid.
There's a good chance I'll be back.

The Rose and Crown, Belgravia

I meat to say 'Nice little boozer with decent PRICES'. The Masons at Queenstown Rd could learn from this place.

The Rose and Crown, Belgravia

Nice little boozer with decent boozer. A great place to go to get away from all the upper class chavs down the road

How silly of me to hand over 10 in the mistaken belief it would pay for 2 drinks. A pint of Kronenburg and a large glass of white wine 10.80? The Kronenberg was 4.15/pt. I'll leave you to do the maths for the white wine.

Walk 10 mins down the road and a Kronenburg drops down to 3.50/pt. Head down to Le Pot Lyonnais and it drops to 3.25.

Nice pub it maybe but it's not THAT nice. The prices are a joke.

These are austere times apparently. I'll be taking my hard earned cash elsewhere.

The Ferryboat Inn, Tottenham Hale

It would be a nice pub but for the lack of competent bar staff. Mind you any bar staff would be an improvement.

The norm is that you go to the bar to order, but stand waiting 10 minutes because there are no bar staff and with no-one checking to see if anyone's waiting to be served.

I once went in when there was a special offer being advertised on the Rioja. A customer asked the barmaid for a bottle of Rioja and she looked straight through him. He had to explain it was red wine and it was on special offer.

Pride, Doombar and IPA were the beers on offer when I was in there last week.

It wouldn't take a lot to turn this into a really nice pub, just a bit of staff training ....oh yes and some staff.

The Windsor Castle, East Finchley

Maybe I there was a different crowd of people in compared to what other reviewers had to deal with but I had a drink in here Friday evening before going to a nearby restaurant, and thought what a nice little local pub it was.

I had a good chat to the landlord and a good pint of bitter; McMullens is a brewery I haven't come across before so even from that fact alone it was worth going to.

It's not on my doorstep, but I'll be going again that's for sure. If I come across the antisocial types discussed I may change my mind but there aren't many pubs that don't have there share of undesireabls at some time or other.

The Dog and Duck, Soho

Yesterday (Saturday 24th May) I took friends to see this, one of my favourite pubs in London, only to wish I hadn't because of the lazy slob that was manning the bar.

No smile, no greeting, moving around like we were being done a favour, the barmaid made no effort to make us feel welcome and every effort to make us feel unwelcome.

None of us could believe how obnoxious this individual was being. Though we had ordered drinks, because of her attitude, we cancelled them before she had a chance to start pouring an left.

Could the manager/owners please do something so that no one has to suffer this again!

The Old Coffee House, Soho

I'd forgotten what a nice pub this is. IPA and 6X on tap.

The Hand and Shears, Barbican

Went there for Friday lunch last week. Very impressed. Good selection of beers. I had a very nice pint of 6X to wash down a very tasty Fish Pie.

I'll be going back.

The Coach and Horses, Soho

On the face of it you'd think that this pub would be the perfect antidote to all those sterile chain bars.

But whats the point of having 4 real ales on tap if all 4 have run out as was the case when I went in there last week.

Very disappointing.

The Freemasons Arms, Covent Garden

This was one of my favourite boozers. Friendly, great staff, great beer, charming Landlady and while not allowing anyone to take advantage, the pub has always been pretty relaxed at closing times.

Last night we were asked for our glasses at 11.05. We were still drinking but for good measure we had our beer mats from us.

The over zealous barman then came and demanded our glasses, in no uncertain terms, again 5 minutes later.

Is the bar manager new? If so and the landlady is reading this can she please get rid of them and restore some of the discretion that appears to have been lost.

The Nell Gwynne, Covent Garden

Petition signed and email sent to friends who I have taken here to get them to do the same.

Surely they can't close my favourite pub in London ... can they?

The Salisbury, Harringay

I took some visitors in for the Sunday roast a couple of weeks ago. It was one of the best I have had in ages.

I have never had any bad experience with the staff so I wouldn't nbecessarily take some of the previous comments on the service too much to heart.

A good selection of beers and a fantastic, traditional building.

The White Lion, Clerkenwell

Good pub. Good atmosphere. Good landlord and landlady. Good bar staff. Very Friendly.

For those looking for non lager drinks, it was selling Greene King IPA when I was in there last night.

Has Satellite TV and a pool table for those needing such facilities.

Charlie Wright's International Bar, Hoxton

I am amazed no one else has reviewed this place up to now.

one of my favourite bars in London.

A bit rough around the edges, but serves a range of continental beers, has very reasonably priced thai food until 10pm and has a big screen for showing sport.

Toilets could do with smatening up but that's the norm in many bars.
